Spektrum DX5e Transmitter

The DX5e is a great way to benefit from all of the advantages that 2.4Ghz Spektrum brings to flying, but at a more affordable price than ever.

Although not carrying as many of the features of the more expensive Spektrum™ radios the DX5e will still provide more than adequate functionality for use with aircraft requiring up to five channels. Offering servo reversing, Hi and Lo rates, Delta wing mixing and for those starting out, trainer compatibility with other Spektrum radios, the DX5e delivers the most up to date technology for less than ever before.

A Full Range System
DX5e is a full-range system utilising the latest DSM2™ technology and brings with it all the advantages of this simple to-use, switch on and fly radio system. Powered by four AA batteries (included) it has the infrastructure to convert to rechargeable versions with a charging socket incorporated into the side of the transmitter. 

The transmitter is compatible with the Snelflight 2.4GHz receiver, and all Spektrum DSM receivers. If using the DX5e with any of the park flyer receivers such as the AR6000, AR6100, AR6100E or AR6300, it is important to respect the limitations of these receivers and use the combination only in park flyer type aircraft.

Snelflight 2.4GHz Spektrum Compatible DSM2 6-Channel Receiver

The Snelflight 2.4 GHz receiver is an ultra-compact unit which is compatible with a range of Spektrum/JR DSM2 and DSMX transmitters including DX5e, DX6I, DX7, DX8, DSX7, DSX9 and DSX11. It is a "park flyer" receiver with a range of about 400 metres, and is ideal for the QuadPod.

AR600 DSM2 6-Channel Sport Receiver

The AR600 is the affordable way to equip your model with the speed and reliability of DSM2 control, and Spektrum's official "match" to the DX5e transmitter. Finding room to mount it is easy. Its lightweight, compact case design easily fits into any fuselage, including those of most park flyers.

NOTE: The AR600 receiver is not compatible with the DX6 park flyer radio system.

Snelflight 850mAh 25C 3S Lithium Polymer Flight Battery

The Snelflight 850mAh 25C 3S LiPo is a very lightweight, powerful and robustly constructed battery. It is the one we recommend and stock for the QuadPod. It will provide about 12 minutes of flight time, and offers the convenience of up to 2C charge rate, which will fully charge the battery in about 35 minutes.

Loong Max Tipple 1000mAh 3S LiPo Battery

The Loong Max Tipple 1000mAh 3S will provide about 12 minutes of QuadPod flight time, and offers the convenience of up to 5C charge rate. However we recommend using 3C maximum charge rate for optimum battery life. Additionally, when a battery is charged quickly the amount of energy absorbed tends to drop somewhat, resulting in a shorter flight time. 3S is a good trade-off, and in practice will fully charge the battery in about 25 minutes.

Turnigy C3 Lithium Polymer Charger & Balancer

The Turnigy C3 is a reliable, basic charger for 2S and 3S lithium polymer batteries. It is extremely easy to use; just plug the power into one end, and the battery into the other! It runs directly from AC 240/110V, eliminating the need for a 12V adapter. The minimal instructions are printed on the box.

The charger has a JST-XH balance plug, which makes it compatible with Snelflight, Tipple, Zippy, HXT, TURNIGY or any pack with a JST adapter. It will charge our QuadPod battery in about 80 minutes. Although it takes longer than a more powerful charger, the advantage is that the battery will be charged fully. Fast chargers typically only charge a battery to around 90%, due to a lag in the battery's internal chemistry.
