Flying Saucer is a model from Snelflight which offers everyone
a chance to try genuine 3-axis control hovering flight in the
smallest of spaces.
At just 19cm in diameter it is truly miniature, yet it has
four separate motors and a computer gyro control system.
These give the Saucer fully proportional controls just like
a hobby grade quadcopter. However Saucer's robust aerodynamically
designed foam body gives it "self righting" stability, and protects
the spinning propellers from damage.
The controls are quite docile, yet the Saucer can be flown
with speed and agility. It is an ideal aircraft for a beginner
wishing to learn to fly a quadcopter. Unlike super-stable
coaxial helicopters which "hover themselves" but which have
limited manoeuvrability and teach very little, Saucer rewards
effort and practice with plenty of flying potential.
